Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) is a professional healthcare programme that prepares students to serve as frontline nursing and community health workers. The programme develops the knowledge, practical skills and professional attitude required to provide safe, effective and compassionate care to individuals, mothers, children, families and communities. It combines basic nursing science, maternal and child healthcare, nutrition, first aid, health education and community health training to create capable healthcare professionals.

ANM education focuses strongly on safe motherhood, antenatal and postnatal care, newborn and child health, immunization, family welfare, disease prevention, sanitation, nutrition and health promotion.
